We love our pre-LVMH polycarbonate trunks. They were bought for around €300 each from one of those German "koffer" resellers.

They go with us to Asia, on ex-EU trips (hence multiple flights) and have 28-32Kg in them each on the way back.

A few months after I bought them, one of the wheels came off when collecting it at FRA. Rimowa replaced it for free. A few months ago, so around 8 years after purchase, a plastic stud had come off after flying with 32Kg in it TPE-HKG-CDG-LHR-BSL. Rimowa replaced it free of charge.

Despite this, I'm not sure if I'd replace them if/when they eventually fail, as post-LVMH (despite the lifetime warranty) the prices are mad.
