The family programme at QRPC seems to have improved since the last time I looked at it. So that might be the way to go. In QRPC the avios are not pooled, they are credited directly to the main account. There used to be a drawback in that family members only earned 25-50% of the avios (it was based on each members tier, but a reduced earning for all ) but now it says
Terms and conditions
- All main members can nominate up to nine family members, including their spouse, their children older than two years old, their parents, and their spouse's parents.
- Members will be able to print, save or email the digital cards of their family members.
- All Avios earned by family members are credited to the main member’s account.
- Family members will earn the same number of Avios as the main member for all activities, with the exception of tier bonuses.
- Flight activities by family members do not earn Qpoints.
- The Avios earned prior to de-linking shall remain in the main member’s account.
One should of course check if the fares earn better or worse on QRPC or BAEC, but having the avios going into the main members account directly is a big plus.
