They are pooled, but only when you look at it from a BA perspective. They are not pooled if you want to redeem using the QRPC or FinnairPlus programme. Or did I miss something?
Yes, pooled only in the BAEC world. AFAIK you cannot pool in the AY+ world. I think there's some family thing on the QRPC side as well, but I haven't looked into it. OP wanted a trick to be able to pool his parents' earnings and use the Avios.
Flight747 The parents may be better off crediting directly to QR (or BA) - especially if flying cheap(ish) AY tix with no AY status. The amount of Avios earned might be higher and if you already have a family pooling set up with QR it's just that much simpler. Check out the earning tables before making a decision where to credit.

Flight747 It seems that you are not at home in OW (OneWorld) alliance - AY, BA and QR (as well as mentioned AS) are all members of the same alliance, so you can earn on one member airline's flight Avios or miles in another member's program. The earn/burn rates differ though - optimising them is one of the reasons FlyerTalk exists
