I have done this walk multiple times, and it's quick. Walkways throughout, no need to go through parking garages. Yes, re-clearing security would be a factor. Not sure if OP has TSA Pre or CLEAR, but the new DL T2/T3 headhouse has a big security checkpoint area with a lot of lanes.
