What specifically is ambiguous. The same caveat applies to both Gold and Platinum members. You don't have access to premium lounges (AM, AS, lounges at BKK, CDG, LHR etc) based on status.
I really don't understand why we are taking something straightforward and given and making it more complicated. Granted it's been a while since I've accessed lounges as a Silver since I've been at Gold for awhile. Silver member have lounge access at selected destinations. Go to the Qatar worldwide lounges site and input two random destinations. At MIA Silver gets access to the Turkish lounge. At CMB it's the Araliya lounge. Still doubtful, try AKL and the Strata lounge. Or BKK and the Miracle lounge. (The latter two according to Qatar since I've never used them).
