Ah, LIR makes a big difference. The last time the vacay GF and I flew into LIR, Monteverde was our first stop prior to going further south. Everyone will like CR. Just be patient with travel times (time is often >distance). And if I paid attention to every State warning, I'd probably only would have traveled to about 1/3 of my 86 countries and rarely venture out in my hometown of Washington, DC. That said, I found downtown Liberia a bit sketchy after dark also!
