Isn't that self contradictory ? Frequent flier programmes are intended to reward frequent, high-spending flyers and Flying Blue is no different. Sorry to be blunt, but if you aren't a frequent flyer on intercontinental or higher-spending class of service, there's no short-cut method otherwise everyone would have Platinum.
You can earn XP with Skyteam members on the appropriate fare classes, not just AF/KLM. For Kenya Airways, it's flights sold under KQ and operated by a Skyteam partenaire. I think there's a thread on KQ earnings, it's not the most clear-cut airline.
Honestly, Silver is just really an additional bagage and the choice of whatever nice seats are available H-24 before départ. I wouldn't spend a ton of effort or money deliberately trying to get or keep silver. But that's just my opinion.
