Great idea. It's a really quaint old church, and the parishioners are welcoming. We were just there a couple of weeks ago. This can be part of a drive down to the southern end of Makena Blvd. There's a parking lot there and a hike you can do on lava-rock trail. Beautiful scenery the whole way. Take it slow and take it all in. Not many tourists go down there.
