ok, I feel better..... am I over reacting?
OMG - I was thinking about posting about the one negative of my recent stay there: the valet situation.

Frankly, I go to Maui a lot, and I pretty much never experience the haole treatment that I see written about on the web all the time. And I do try to tip on my valet parking, but I just don't always have cash (and no, I'm not going to Venmo, especially when paying that much).

I've also stayed at many other nice resorts on Maui and not had this treatment.

But these valets really had an attitude. Still, I almost never see it. But the Grand Wailea really needs to set a different tone there. If these guys (and yes, all men) really can't be more agreeable, then they shouldn't be tourist-facing. Sorry. But this was not befitting of a $1,000/night hotel with $65/night parking.

The rest of the staff at the hotel was pretty great. But the valets really left a bad taste in my mouth. Especially compared with the Andaz valets, who are incredibly nice and friendly - really strong group over there.
