I remember there being rumors the A43 Club at DTW would eventually become a D1 lounge. I’m not sure where a D1 lounge would fit in ATL especially with AMEX taking over vacant space in Concourse E; but I’m sure DL could figure it out.
I heard the same rumor about DTW from an agent there last year. I would welcome it, but the space feels too small for the evening bank of TATL departures.
Agree that for ATL the big question is where they would put it, and given the volume of D1 departures, it would need to be on par with the JFK lounge in terms of size. E feels the most logical and they'd almost certainly have to build up or out. They'd need an appealing way to get people over to F, and clearly a direct checkpoint-to-lounge experience would not be a possibility.
