IIRC there was a past case/clarification on how many rotations airlines are allowed to claim issues for at their hubs? I had notifications for delays at 7am that morning for a flight at 7pm, so they could have easily mitigated it if they didn't make the commercial decision to maximise their airframe usage (would that be an acceptable argument for comp?). Moreover, the ground staff told me a night curfew was the reason for the cancellation, but I cannot seem to find any info on curfews in BSL, so assuming it was a BUD curfew - a 2030 departure could have easily gotten us there before midnight, but again was a commercial decision for them not wanting to have the airframe stuck in BUD for the night if it couldn't take off in time (in my opinion).

I've booked on another airline and claimed from EasyJet, they paid no issues or argument.
That said, if EasyJet were smart they'd rebook you on Aegean, it's showing £61 for BSL-ATH-BUD tomorrow at 9am...just keep things simple and book the WizzAir nonstop for £233 + fees
I wish it were that simple! Seems like an entire plane load of people bound for BUD have quickly snapped up the tickets, whilst Aegean and Wizz show up on Google Flights, it's not bookable on their sites.
