CX is unlikely to add more flights from JFK or EWR, because DoT will almost certainly require CX to avoid Russian airspace for additional flights, which would make those flights less economical.
In my flights JFK-HKG, we always flew more west and short of the pole and over Japan. So more of a Canada-Japan route vs. Russian route.
