I'd argue Chelsea is a somewhat unfair comparison. D1 seems aimed more at Polaris and Soho here in NYC. Setting aside Keys and 360s, I'd argue Chelsea is tougher to enter than D1/Polaris/Soho. But D1 absolutely blows away EWR Polaris and JFK Soho in terms of size, layout, amenities...but with the odd liquor-charge perk you point out.
