A CX lounge at JFK T6 will surely be much less crowded (and perhaps of better quality) than AA/BA-operated lounges at T8. Most of the F/J passengers (and other qualified OW elites) flying on OW carriers other than CX aren't likely to use the lounge because of the inconvenience of going from one terminal to the other. With only 3 daily CX flights currently, how is CX going to offset the cost of operating the lounge?
