A short connection (didn't look at the timetable but I assume it's short if you're routinely missing it) in the evening in a storm-prone airport like EWR is kind of asking for it. The overall timing is attractive but I agree other routes might end up nicer. I haven't flown to India so I don't really know the subtleties of the weird timings of some of the flight combos.

IME one of the big contributors is large single hubs. They produce huge pax volumes all handled by a "machine" like work environment which is less likely to produce/reward good employees. That and neither New Yorkers nor people from NJ exactly have a reputation for patience or politeness
But I feel like e.g. DL at ATL has a similar reputation compared to other DL stations.
