That sounds about right. The TSA website implies it's open 24 hours, but I routinely pass through there at 4 AM just as they are opening up. One day last week I was their first "customer" as they were putting the sign out.
I find it interesting that it closes, but I guess demand is just low, after the last Asia departures around 1am, Viva/Volaris have departures roughly hourly all night, so the checkpoint must remain open for at least regular screening, unless they force people to show up at midnight for a 3:30am departure.
