EWR - am I just unlucky?
I fly on UA 82 to DEL fairly frequently (I go about 8 times a year). It seems like it was a good choice since it is non-stop. The problem is the feeder flight from DEN is pretty much always delayed and its 50/50 if I make the flight. The latest was classified as an "ATC" delay. The actual delay? Some clown was sitting on the ramp not answering the radio. Not so sure that is ATC related....... The fun part was that because it was classified ATC there was no help with hotels or anything. Honestly it was a mess.
The ground staff can be pretty surly as well. The last time I missed the flight I watched the ground staff treat some people very poorly. Admittedly many of these people were upset that they let the plane leave without them. I can understand that the ground staff has zero control over the situation, but letting people fume might not be unreasonable given the circumstances.
So am I unlucky?
PS - this not a rant thread. Its a question thread. I am curious if others have similar experiences in EWR. I do not see this type of thing in other UA hubs so it seems a bit of an anomaly.
