I've looked online and everything is as clear as mud. it reports that in Star Alliance, OZ is the largest carrier to Korea, by far, but besides stating issues with the smaller other carriers and acceptance into *A,
I read that "The carrier expects to receive approval from the US by October. The company aims to integrate the two largest airlines in Korea within two years of getting the nod from the US" so, does that mean I am safe to earn *A miles in May 2025? I refer to you, oh wise ones. If the flight is booked with *A first leg taken SEP '24, will they still honour the RTN for *A May '25?
May is pretty far out. If (and that's a big if) the merger is approved in October, it is uncertain how fast KE would move. OZ could leave *A before full integration is achieved for example. I'd be leaning towards you'll be fine, but truthfully no one actually knows, including the KE executives.
