Good afternoon all,
I realize that NWA prob. doesn't HAVE to do anything in this situation that I am about to explain, as it is a non-ref ticket, but I am asking you in based on your experience what you think I might be able to get if I encounter a nice agent (1st try wasn't successful
My wife and I were planning on visiting IST in three weeks. Sadly, her mom was diagnosed w/breast cancer, and understandably she wants to stay behind to be there during the treatment. I'm going anyhow w/another friend, but there is the issue of her ticket.
It was a NWA Cash & Miles fare, which is a non-ref fare. Her first call to NWA to explain the situation (she was just asking for credit back on NWA) ended in them telling her the only option is her to pay $50 to get the 10,000 miles back (but nothign for the lost $$). They told her that "since she isn't a frequent flier of NWA" this is the best they can do.
To me, that comment right there leaves the door open, as they are admitting they CAN do something, just don't want to. All we'd want is a credit back for future NWA travel. Is that too much to expect?
Thanks for your time, hoping to see some good comments.
