Just wrapped up a 3 night stay here over the weekend. It's the second stay for us here, the first was in September 2023.

Arrival
An easy taxi ride after coming in from Hong Kong at GZ East Railway Station. Took about 20 minutes in Friday late afternoon traffic. Bell staff were helpful and we headed up to the 65th floor lobby.

Check in
No wait at check in and we were warmly welcomed. Upgraded to the King Deluxe which is slightly larger than the King room. Didn't enquire about suites as I knew the room well.

Room
The room has a proper sofa with coffee table, and additional table with two chairs. (photos below). The room at first glance is great, but I noticed some condition issues that I didn't 9 months ago. I'm not sure if this is overall indicative of the hotel at large but the 56th floor has massive water damage throughout the hallway carpets. Stains are very prevalent. There is a slight musty feel in the hallway. I didn't notice this before when staying in the same category room on the 60th floor. Best I can determine is the sprinklers engaged and the carpets haven't been replaced.

Facilities
The rooftop bar is great. There is an unlimited evening happy hour with spread which they said they would discount for Globalists, but was not included. Seemed a little odd as I've had "evening service" from many hotels without lounges so I enquired of two at the restaurant and at the front desk, each of who confirmed. Breakfast is quite good, lots of ala carte choices with seemingly no limit on number of dishes to order complimenting the buffet. Included for Globalist's at The Dining Room. Breakfast was extremely busy between 8-10:30.

The hotel overall was very busy over the weekend. Elevators were constantly engaged and ran into many guests, which was quite different than 9 months ago. The last time I stayed here it felt extremely quiet and private, some of that was gone. Lastly though on a non-smoking floor, the constant smoking of guests cannot be avoided. There was even a guest smoking with his door open. This was particularly bad the day I checked out and when I mentioned it the front desk waived all of the mini-bar charges.

Location
Many other reviews cover the location but will just reiterate that the MTR has an entrance in the building and otherwise DiDi is super easy and cheap. I find that GZ has some excellent restaurants and bars, and a great mix of old and new to explore and shop.
