While it supposedly correct, Marriott sets the minimum, but some hotel did claim that Marriott asked them not to go above and beyond. For example, Tokyo The Prince Gallery. They are part of Luxury Colelction but have lounge. They used to provide lounge access for Platinums and above during SPG but then stop providing that benefit during Marriott time.
They claim it was Marriott who asked them stop providing club access. Whether is true or not, we never know. (The Athenee Bangkok, another Luxury Collection hotel however, continue to provide club lounge access though)
