I would too. I also find the similar backups at International A where either CLEAR on the Precheck side is closed or the Precheck lane is closed entirely without regard to time of day. I've had 3 departures from International A this year, one in the morning, one midday, and one in the evening, and the Precheck lane was closed each time. Two out of the three times the CLEAR kiosks were roped off with no staff in sight. So, yes, even though it's a longer walk, I'd take advantage of the airside connection between International G and International A if I had reason to visit one concourse even if I were flying out of the other one.
