Unfortunately I will be $6 short of the hotel minimum to trigger the real time rewards. Has anyone else run into this and figured out a way to trigger the RTR text? I thought maybe buying some snacks from market in the lobby would do it?
just tell the hotel at check-in that you’d like to make an upfront payment of $150 towards the room rate and any incidentals. If for some reason your total expenses are less than $150, they should refund the difference at checkout. I can’t speak to specific hotels but haven’t had any issues paying up front at check-in.

the bigger risk is that the hotel charges you $129 in advance of your check-in time, say the day before.
