As im new to this not exactly sure what certain things mean so I'd like to get an understanding of the load for this flight (it's red on myID) but It's the soonest flight I'd be able to take. the next one at 8pm is green but I figure I'll try my luck. Any assistance will be right now

Flight load I saw when I booked is J3 C2 D0 R0 I0 Y9 B9 H0 K0 M0 L0 V0 N0 O0 Q0 S0 G0 (if anyone can send me an updated one and explain it thanks a million!)

The first thing to note is what you are referring to as “flight load” is simply flight availability, nothing more, ie what’s available for sale, nothing to do with the flight load whatsoever.

Maybe it’s a terminology thing US vs U.K. but I’ve never come across flight availability being referred to as a flight load until I read it here.

Your example is showing what is available for sale, so where it shows J3, it means there are 3 seats left for sale in J class. Where the value is 0, there are zero seats left for sale.

If you see on another flight availability example where it shows J9 C9 D9 etc, anytime you see 9 by an RBD, it means there are 9 seats available for sale but that does not mean there are only 9 seats left on the aircraft. It could be 9, it could be 99 or 199 (obviously not in business or first, I’m just trying to illustrate the point).

Sometimes the figure is 7. Depends on the airline. J7 C7 D7 etc.

Once the availability drops below the standard figure of 9 or 7, it is called “last seat availability”, literally meaning that is what’s left for sale.

It is what travel agents see on their GDS system & airline res agents on their CRS systems.

It changes all the time, it’s real time availability, in 1 min it will be out of date & there’s 3 days to go. It’s of limited use IMO for standby passengers but I guess better than nothing.
