No good option here with the extra night needed. Also, to which account is this supposed to be credited? I'd book it under your name and send an Email to the hotel mentioning 'plat member staying & providing the MR#' - I have seen them allow benefits in such scenarios, but YMMV. It can work in many of the scenarios above, but you can get royally screwed if the hotel doesn't play along and then you don't get the receipt you need.
