The first option is the only one that is allowed by the program, but the points should then credit to your partner and you may struggle to reimburse....

Ultimately, it is a bit of YMMV (Your Miles May Vary), but I would observe that the priority should be the reimbursement rather than the benefits, pointless getting "free" lounge access if you don't actually get reimbursed.
