My true question was: given that on July 2 as the potential date of Lufthansa-ITA deal, how fast Air Canada will act or move quickly to add ITA to its Aeroplan partnership?

The background story of the EU antitrust regulators back-n-forth negotiations with Lufthansa include the trans-Atlantic pact of Lufthansa with United and Air Canada.

Obviously it will take time for ITA to leave SlyTeam and join Star. So I imagine ITA will not help my Aeroplan activities as a Star member in the near term. But I hope Air Canada will bring something better news soon.
