Let’s say we do as you ask they could just say the suite award was never applied and you’re stuck paying that rate.
I spoken to a Hyatt Call Center Manager who told me after a few calls the best advice is if your rate has not reverted by 48 hours prior to check in then to call in to avoid any issues.
My stay booked at Hyatt Regency Denver Tech never reverted back even after waiting a month. My rate went from $100 in the standard room to $500 for the standard suite (hospitality suite). Definitely no chance I’m paying that $500 and don’t have much hope the hotel would fix it, or that Hyatt would help after the fact. I’ve definitely been screwed by Hyatt after the fact such as when I’ve applied SUA’s and the hotel sells my suite Hyatt basically said just work it out with the hotel wouldn’t do anything.
I don't think anyone is going to ask you to pay $500 since I'm sure they have a history of rate/room changes.
If you want to be safe, you can always send an email to your concierge so that it's in writing.
