This is the perfect thread for me... Based on the recent posts in this thread, seems like Claridge's is a highlight / most recommended, but would love to get some additional insights before we decide-
Planning a 2-3 night (I know, not long enough) stay in London in early 2025 as part of our Europe trip (wife and I alone, no kids). I havent been to London since I was a teenager with my parents 25-ish years ago, my wife has never been. We will do a few key touristy-things but other then that, want something in a safe & upscale area, walkable to nice dining options, etc.
Will be using AMEX FHR for the booking most likely, and here are our choices which I've sorta kinda narrowed down to, mostly just due to being in the top tier of FHR options (in no particular order)
Shangri-La (Shard)
Claridge
Mandarin Oriental (Hyde Park or Mayfair locations)
Bulgari Hotel
Lanesborough
Raffles OWO
Four Seasons Park Lane
Connaught
Rosewood
A central location is critical for us since we're only going to be in London a few nights (ideally walkable . After location, then obviously luxury & comfort / service level. We typically wont spend a ton of time at the hotel beyond sleep & maybe a tea, but a spacious and clean / well-maintained room is also important to us. Not price sensitive as I know what to expect from top-tier hotels in London.
