So, though the offer is very attractive, I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions or reasons why I should stick to J. My primary considerations are privacy and quiet. I am currently in the mini J section. I also value service, but that is so very crew-dependent on US carriers, so I will not upgrade for that.
Given you are on a 14 hour flight, I think the extra space that you get in F might make it worthwhile. And depending on whether you can qualify via other means and there is a nice First Class Lounge that F would get you access to but not J (Chelsea at JFK, Qantas First at LAX or SYD, First Class OW lounges at LHR), then that would be another consideration.
