FRA is one of the worst airports for connections on the planet, on separate tickets, i would not contemplate 2.5 hours, depends on your appetite for risk.
Let me elaborate then.
Booking is an Aeroplan redemption MEL-SIN-BAH-FRA, all in Business Class.
MEL-SIN on SQ J.
SIN-BAH-FRA on Gulf Air J.
Arriving in FRA at 0655am.
Need to buy a separate cash fare FRA-OPO. Direct flights on LH depart at 0930, 1345, 2055.
I am European so assume I can clear e-gates at FRA without any long immigration queue.
So, questions:
1. Will SQ J check-in at MEL allow me to check through all the way to OPO? It's a Star Alliance carrier checking through to another Star Alliance carrier so I would hope so, which would avoid need to collect bags in FRA.
2. Is 2h 35m enough time between flights? I suppose this depends on the through-check question above.
