Lap infant should be capped at US$250 plus taxes. I was quoted <$300 for CDG-IAH Polaris tix last night. Posts above saying thousands of USD are not correct.

Understandable to wait to add lap infant. Cannot change tix online w/ lap infant, so best to wait until just before. (I am doing this to see if LH F opens up...)

Anecdotally, having just added a lap infant last night on int'l all-UA award, UA seems to have changed the system. I was quoted and charged on the phone by the UA agent, but was told the "back office" needed to approve or process it. So, 12 hours later, only 1 of my 2 legs shows the lap infant, despite being charged already for both legs. And even that one didn't show for hours. Previously, the change was instant.
