Friday was a delayed departure from CTA of about 2.5 hours. We sat on the plane but thanks to FT I knew I wasn't getting a pre departure beverage but I could hear various grumbles from behind
. On a separate note big shout out to the pilot who kept everyone informed at every stage and explained that the ATC were short staffed for the LGW return.
This is a grey area - with delay like that the crew could and should have taken drink orders on the ground, The same constraints as far as the bar do not apply - but since the UK is no longer in the EU that may have changed as the bar is Duty Free. I have no idea if your door were closed ready for departure or if the Guardia de Finanzia could have boarded. I would have thought that at least a tray of water and orange juice should not be beyond the wit of anyone.
