You can engineer a stopover with multiple sector booking. The cost
over direct booking varies from close to zero to <oops!>.

Getting the lower option can take some jiggling with dates a stopover duration. And it's Sod's law you'll not get the schedule options you'd prefer. Try outward and return trips: they can give very different results.

And then sometimes it just doesn't work at all 😂
