I'm 6'3" but more torso than leg and I *always* have to recline my seat at least a little because sitting very upright makes my back ache. I'm very concerned about comfort on a trip like this, but unfortunately anything beyond economy would stretch my budget.
So you would take the older 2-4-3 pod seat over the 3-4-3 new style which doess recline? I admittedly don't know the seat width of either.
One of the main point for me is the narrowness of 10 abreast 777. Particularly in the A and K seats in the emergency exit rows, they just don't have the shoulder space to sit comfortably. While the slide forward function in the standard rows is not as comfortable as a normal recline function, the general width of the seats, the double armrests for the middle two seats in the 4 block, the option to get the 2 seat blocks just gets a lot more going for the 2-4-3 configuration.
