You are right! I somehow still forget this rule.
OT: Not to detract too much, but when doing NBO-LHR on BA recently, with a LHR-JER connection later that day on a separate ticket, and checked bag, without my offering it was through checked. I assume FLY did this. Would it also automatically pick up the OP's carrier, A3, or just BA,OW,IAG or the like?
