Good morning from not so sunny Newcastle this morning

It has been an odd start of the day here at Newcastle Airport. Starting with the BA checkin which was rammed and over spilling as they had two club lanes open and two economy lanes, but only one of the economy lanes were manned

Next stop was fast path security and again, odd. The usual fast path scanner, Scanner 1 was down, and scanners 2 AND 3 were being used for fast path. Scanner 3 was also misbehaving.

My rucksack went to secondary which was no surprise as the bag is rammed, but there was a backlog of a few trays. When it was finally my turn the scanner had picked out
my phone! That has never flagged before, so, odd!

Finally through to departures which was very busy, all the seats full and the bar also.

And lastly into the lounge fully thirty minutes after arrival. No time for a stop off as Aster and Thyme this morning, security used up that time.

Currently I’m lounging in the lounge with the standard trio plus one, it’s a double coffee day.

And no wifi in the lounge at the moment, it connects and hangs on authentication.

Hopefully this is not an indication of things to come!

This mornings flight is rammed, there were two staff checking in whilst I was at the club desk, both were on standby. The reason I was at the club desk was to ask about an Airport Upgrade for the leg to Santorini, it is available at £219. I’m pondering it . No upgrades on this flight to Heathrow as it’s overbooked, however expertflyer is showing a couple of empty seats in club so maybe, just maybe, a there’s a chance of a gate upgrade, who knows.
