Made it here - it is a beautiful place and certainly getting away from it all. Beach is beautiful but a bit rocky and not the best for swimming. The macaw reserve nearby is great - the hotel arranges this and many other activities if you like.
The one question people may have is about getting here. I believe in the past there wasn’t a bridge over a river and in rainy season it wasn’t practical to drive here due to having to cross a river. Now, there is a bridge over said river and getting here in a rental vehicle is doable as long as it is an SUV or 4x4, and you are comfortable driving off road. The last 5 miles of the drive becomes a dirt road with curves and hills until you get to the hotel entrance.
