Yea DL just added some flights this winter from MSP down to the Caribbean. I randomly looked at MSP-GCM which clocks out at 1891 miles! By comparison ATL-JAC is only 1542 and both receive a sad box, however at least with JAC I know there are limited if any catering facilities. In GCM they have catering facilities DL just to cheap to use them.
JAC has catering, it's done by the airport restaurant which also caters private jets carrying the most rich and famous people on the planet.
I just returned from a trip to Canada where WestJet managed to cater short ribs, salads and pasta in the outpost of Whitehorse, Yukon. Meanwhile Delta won't bother even in Canada's largest cities with multiple caterers. There are options almost everywhere, Delta is just too cheap to use them.
