Both are places I like and have visited repeatedly, Madrid for weeks at a time for Spanish lessons, Malta lost out to Austin for my xmas trip. I really like Gozo even if its a bit of a nuisance to get to. My last trip the memory that stays with me was this table for dinner, out on a pontoon and inches from the sea.
It's more than 30 years since I was last in Gozo. I always though it was far better than Malta. Back then you could get there by helicopter which made it very easy. Anyway, another week of UK based work behind me. At last we have a good weekend coming up which is bound to require a short drive down to the coast.
