- Couldn't use a SUA in advance since no standard suite available.
- Globalist front desk agent reached out in advance. Asked a bunch of questions to prep for the stay, to which I responded. Got what felt like a very canned response back. However … see below for what awaited us!
- Upgraded the day-of to a Deluxe Room. At check-in, asked politely about anything larger and was told all the standard suites were taken and only options were premium suites for a fee. I didn’t press the issue. In years past, I’ve been upgraded generously many times. Not a biggie on this stay, just a bummer.
- Room was ready around 2pm. When we got there, awesome surprise for my 7 yo for his bday including a “cake” of berries, bowl of candy, balloons, and a stuffed lion. He was pretty over the moon!! Loved the attn to detail.
- Last time I stayed was a decade ago, I think, and they still had the old Blaise Mautin scent I absolutely loved. The new amenities are a completely different scent, which is very light and non descript. Bleh! Miss the old stuff (which they still have pumping as a scent around the lobby).
- Rollaway was delivered around 9pm without prompting. We decided to set it up in the bathroom as there was plenty of room and gave us some privacy. Worked great (and amazing how 24,000 steps a day around Paris can conk out a little kid!)
- Fitness area is great, if not small. Mostly just 1 of everything except cardio machines (which also were very limited), so with 4-5 people working out the morning I went, we had to juggle around the equipment.
- Spa/Relaxation area nice if you’re alone, otherwise kind of awkward. Apparently they are considering installing a pool.
- Breakfast was divine. Not a huge buffet, but very thoughtful high quality selection. In future, I would even bother ordering eggs as there is more than enough at the buffet, including quiche, shashouka eggs and other protein.
- Hotel let me take some work calls from the lobby after check-out, although interactions with staff were notably less warm. <shrug>
- Very accessible to Opera and Madeleine stops. Easy walk to the Louvre and even Musée d’Orsay.
Always my favorite Park Hyatt with many special memories here, now including this one!
thank you! Was the stuffed animal branded with park Hyatt logos? (If so please provide a picture!)
what was the upgrade price? I have a confirmed king deluxe room but may want to pay cash for a suite
