Amadeus and Sabre are designed to serve a multitude of airlines irrespective of alliance, so they would by design have more inputs compared to any individual airline's system because they must.
Sorry I think my post wasn't as clear as it should have been! - I meant complicate things when it comes to worrying about GDPR etc. Your point above is exactly the point I was making in post 1097!: yes, getting FFPs recognised to provide status benefits etc requires connecting databases (although, they will have to do that ultimately anyway!) whilst merely allowing passengers to enter any FFP number does not. As
oliver2002 mentions, Amadeus (which, to my knowledge, SAS uses as their GDS) already has the facility to do that, so it would merely take for SK to enable bookers to enter the relevant codes under FFP and the info will be stored accordingly. In fact, whilst I haven't tried, I wouldn't be surprised if it was already possible for people with an SK booking to then go to - say - the MH or RJ website to update their FFP number to enter for instance an AF or DL one.
