With B class you can use Star Alliance Upgrade Awards which you can lodge with your home FFP, as long as there are I class inventory on your flights.

Failing that, there are at times fixed-priced upgrades offered at CI, I am guessing around 1-1.5k EUR for business from economy for the FRA-PEK leg. CA doesn't do biddings anymore.
