The Hawaii lounges in general are terrible. I was in this same lounge about 15 years ago and it doesn't seem to have changed. There's just not much competition, the route doesn't attract business flyers and frequently people are flying on awards tickets so there's not a huge incentive to invest in lounges at non-HNL airports.
It's also the Hawaiian airlines lounge which are not great. Even their lounges at HNL are pretty awful, the plumeria lounge has about the same except for they also have packaged sandwiches and the premier club is pretty much the same. Hawaiian does have a lounge called apartment1929 that is
much better and comes with a concierge service and really nice cocktails/drinks but you need to be flying on Hawaiian and pay at least $500 for 2 people. The United, ANA, JAL, and Qantas lounges in HNL are better but the most of the lounges are only open for limited hours (e.g. the qantas lounge is open open 3 hours before the qantas flight and closes shortly after the last qantas flight, so I think it's 8am to around noon).
