In Y I would definitely choose JL. In J I'd choose JL. But PE I think AA is better unless you really value lounge access. I think JL Y is so good (food & seat wise) they had to give PE lounge access to differentiate it a bit more.
The JAL seat is far better - it's a got a good amount more pitch (legroom), it's the shell style so recline doesn't come into the space of the person behind you, it's got better storage, and I find the comfort/padding of the seat to be better. Seat comfort is by far the most important thing to me

IFE - less selection yes, but I usually find enough movies to watch. My main IFE is the physical book I bring with me (realize I'm in in minority on that). The JAL screens are slightly bigger than than AA ones.

AA's food is terrible .... I find JAL's Y meals better than AA's Premium economy meals. Most of the time I eat in the lounge and don't bother with onboard food.
