Pianoman109876, you've got the gist correct. Depending on how much alcohol you're bringing in, you may be waived through by the CBP officer and not have to pay Duty.

I know the kiosks used to ask questions about importing stuff... last time I flew into ATL I don't recall the kiosks asking me any of the questions --it only identified me. I don't think the Global Entry app asks about imports either. Am I misremembering?
