Tokyo Part 2 Day 4
We decided to start with an early lunch of a Michilen Bib Gourmand standing sushi restaurant in Azabu-Juban, called Tachigui Sushi Tonari. We each did the chef’s special selection of 10 pieces plus a few extras a la carte for about $80 a person.

Amazing Otoro

I won’t bore with too many pictures, but a special Uni piece.

After our lunch, we headed to Akihabara for some people watching. Since it was a Saturday the streets were packed with locals.

After exploring there, we headed back towards Tokyo tower to do another city view. By Tokyo Tower and a little past the new Azabudai Hills I found an amazing coffee shop that almost was like a speak easy, located in the basement of a residential building.

Pretty good coffee, but an even better ambiance.

From there, we did our city view which was a nice way to spend our last full day.

From Tokyo Tower we did some more shopping in Ginza where I got an early birthday present of a Tokyo style backpack to take into work and on trips that don’t require my Tumi briefpack.

We then did some final day shopping in Shibuya before having a snack in the basement of the Parco.

This was our only Kushiage of the trip so it was enjoyable.

After our first dinner, we met some friends at an Izakaya in Nishi-Azabu for a final night dinner.

We then returned to Hiro’s for one last drink.
Tokyo Part 2 Day 5
Since we only had time for an early lunch, I found the highest rated local Ramen place in tableog and before that we headed to Akasaka Palace to see the Japanese take on a European palace. This picture doesn’t really do it justice but next time we return I will make sure to check it out beyond the curiosity glance we gave it.

One last train to Shinjuku for our lunch.

Even though it was 11:45 on a Sunday Ramen Sho had a line which was a sign I picked a good place.

A truly sensational ramen, although neither of us could finish.

From there we headed back to the Hyatt to grab our bags and a taxi to the Monorail. To save money, instead of taking a cab to Haneda we took one to the Hamamatsucho monorail station where we transferred on to the rapid monorail, which saved us about $35.
To be continued with final thoughts and a simple United premium economy flight.
