I've had an AeroMexico Rewards account open for a few years now, but have never transferred AMEX MR points into my account; mostly because of the negativity surrounding AeroMexico's program. Recently I found an award for Jan 2025 MEX-EZE in J (Lie-flat 787). 100K AeroMexico Reward points. With MR transferring at 1 to 1.6, this redemption looks like a decent deal (I would position to MEX from LAX). I’ve done many redemptions in foreign programs, but never AeroMexico. Am I crazy to consider this?
Don't count on ever getting a refund from them (or any other customer service for that matter) but the onboard experience on the Dreamliner is pleasant. The immigration queue in MEX in the morning can be very time consuming.
