Meaning to say that if I do meet the spend on the retention offer and get the 40k point I'm on the hook to pay $695 next March because I must keep the card open and can't cancel until after 6/17/2025 (12 months after acceptance of retention). If I don't meet the spend, I don't get points so I can cancel next March if I choose to do so and not pay the AF again and not suffer any repercussions since no bonus points were ever received. Hope this clarifies it.
