Business in an all-economy plane gets lounge access. The question is if SAA sells the front couple of rows as business, blocking the middle seats. Were you in front of plane with empty middle seat?
The lounge comment was in jest. The agent at check-in acknowledged the downgrade and said "yes, business class ticket, plane swap - but at least you can use the lounge". Boarding pass was "Y", original ticket still said "business".
Agent in Windhoek told me to reach out to United ("United ticket") for refund.
